Shawn Rubens (at the left) is the in 1979  in Rotterdam born tech-house/techno dj producer who in the mid 90's started deejaying as a resident in Roadhouz (Rotterdam) in ’96-’97, playing his sets each friday and saturday. During these years, he developed his mixing skills.

In the late 90's he discovered and fell in love with techno. This new discovery of deeper sounds and energy hooked him up and he got the chance to spin at a variaty of clubs and parties like Dance Valley, Lowlands and the Heineken Music Hall.

With his own concepts, LIFT at the Baroeg (street style underground drum & bass), and his Beatmac, a collab with Artech in Rotterdam's Nighttown Basement (art & pounding techno music) he became well known and was referred by Dutch medium "3voor12" as the follow-up for the "Future" parties from Michel De Hey, a decade before.

Nowadays Shawn is resident at the Bootleg DJ cafe in Rotterdam where he hosts his own party Detour and the 2009 DJ contest. Detour has proven to be a strong concept which had performances by Warren Fellow, Michel De hey and Estroe already.

His first release on Nightdrive Records, a remix of Harry Seldom ft. Screech’ “After the Hurricane” was released in September 2008 on Beatport Exclusive. After winning a remix contest on GZP for Illogical’s track “Tank” recently, his 2nd release followed in 2009 on Houston based Com’ere Records.

Random EP is their first collab release on PM Deep, with the tracks "Cold Tea" and "The Burst".  These tracks are filled with many types of glitchy percussion and sounds which they record themselves using non-instruments mostly, creating moving and energetic electronic music. Working studio overtime ,these guys are now busy on some new material with fresh ideas for new sounds, so keep your ears and eyes open for Random ;-)
