Burnmatic (deephouse, SOULFULHOUSE)

Bernd van Puffelen (1990), also known as Burnmatic, was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and has always been passionated and inspired by music. He liked to sing very loudly with every single song on the radio and to play the drums on the cushions of the couch in the living room. Things like these were just some simple daily activities.

Bernd grew older and with the time, his interest in music and genres changed. Around his fourteenth, he was more interested in electronic music. Music made by computer, by using software.
Many days and many nights he was looking for this electronic music and very gradually this music started to him more and more captivating. Eventually, the young musician made the decision to get started in music himself! After four years of experience with the trumpet, three years of piano lessons and seven years of singing lessons at the Jeugdtheater Hofplein Rotterdam, Bernd knew exactly what he wanted to do.

Bernd was now seriously involved with house music in general and it was not long before he knew what (sub) genres in the house were really for him to play; Deep -en Microhouse, Techhouse, Minimal, Jackin', Latin -& Funkyhouse, Soulfulhouse, Chicagohouse, [Club]Jazz, [Club]Lounge & Chill Out.

However, he started mixing and producing his own tapes and tracks (now sixteen years old), it still lacked a name. His father then, was figuring out some nickname based on the family name “van Puffelen”, and finally came up with Puffadelic. With that "-ic" stuff, Bernd tried to invent his own name. As exemplary he took words like automatic, pragmatic, bombastic, etc. etc. Bernd could still remember the nickname he was given at primary school; Burnd. So it was just a matter of time to find out what was best, based on the nickname Burnd. Eventually, he finally got it made and he said: “From now on, I should be called Burnmatic!”  

Since the age of eighteen (autumn 2008) Burnmatic has been doing serious business in the music. He has already done many successfully projects and he is continuously looking for new music to spin or to do some remix on. B. also constantly deals with working on his own productions. Finally, he deals with the constant promotion of fellow musicians and he likes creating new mixing and party concepts. One of his great, upcoming concepts is best known as Impressive Beatz. So you can imagine this young, talented, very busy musician has little time to taking a break.

Despite his very active contribution to the music, a major breakthrough is still no fact. Which Burnmatic thinks that’s a shame, because he hopes with his music, to connect and to inspire other people. He’d like, for that reason, to become a great musician in the future!

Burnmatic his music can be described as exclusive, alternative, funky, loungy, compelling, interesting, experimental and mysterious. His music is often just what general house, as we all know it, has not. It can be said, a completely different style!
